Albert, Olga, and I are in the final stages of departure preparation. Tonight, if all goes according to plan, we will bed down in Annapolis, and tomorrow we will be attending the ASPO-USA conference. Then it's on the NYC.

Wish us safe passage.

I now know that the one-day trip from the Farm to the Elk River House amounts to about 15 hours behind the wheel. Now that I know it CAN be done in a day, I'll have to decide how often I SHOULD make the trip in one big push.

I'll spend the weekend with my sons, and then it's on to NYC.

I meant to have everything ready to go; all eyes dotted and teas crossed, so that I could just jump in the truck and go at first light, but of course, last minute details have delayed me by 90 minutes so far. Leaving Marty's for Cincinnati now. Mocha stays here by herself tonight.

Mocha seems to be doing well. She is ensconced in the ETC greenhouse. She is eating, using the litterbox, and starting to complain about boredom. I take all of these to be good signs. When we drove from Berryville to Summertown on Monday, she spent the whole 10 hours in my lap (except when I had to get out at a gas station). It's hard to drive and ( Read more... )
